Our hard drive comes in for the clutch!

I found out that you can install Epic Games onto an external hard drive, which makes me so happy.

I don’t have the largest external hard drive in the world, but it’s bigger than the one that is currently on board on this computer. So it’s actually more prudent for me to dedicate an entire external hard drive to games. I got Bub all of the Kingdom Hearts games that came out for the PC for the first time through Epic Games, and their customer service was actually incredibly helpful when I had problems relating to one transaction.

Meanwhile, with my share of the fourth stimulus check I purchased a few more pairs of cyberlox to wear in my hair. I am progressively getting better at wearing them, or at the very least, “sucking less at wearing them”. Phrase it how you like. I also purchased some cosmetics from Colourpop, Deck of Scarlet, and EMcosmetics. This makes me really happy. Purchases from Hot Topic were also made, since why not?

As it was, I needed a new pair of sneakers since my old pair got holes in some slightly awkward places.

It also took nine years for this to happen.

I have a smaller wound next to the… largest wound.

Since I had been preparing for that likelihood, taking oral antibiotics in addition to using antibiotic cream on the infected areas, I was quickly able to find it. This one formed a bit more painfully than that one, although that one formed slightly painfully as well (and was misattributed to “chub rub”). It formed almost like a burn would have, and it certainly looked like one, although now I know what the most likely cause of these are.

With my third stimulus check, I bought an indoor bicycle since that is more my “style” and can easily be put together and stored in my room. If I can keep this at bay with exercise, I fully intend to do so, although I also know that I have an extensive family history of early-onset type two diabetes… so I may not be able to outrun this. Not entirely. I can see me needing to be put on some kind of medication for it in the (near) future.

To be honest, I did expect cellulitis to be a diagnosis because of how some of these wounds formed. To know that there is a specific cause behind them connected with family history has been a bit depressing, though.

But in case it needs to be said, I also spent a portion of my third stimulus check on exercise equipment.

It took nine years for this to happen.

So I made an appointment with my primary care physician over a wound that would not heal. I began taking 60mg of prednisone to break a migraine that persisted in coming back in spite of my medication regimen for it with the intent to stop taking said prednisone once it had broken for twenty-four hours… you know, standard operating procedure here. Within a few days, I had noticed a wound beginning to form on my left leg that I thought was “chub rub”, as it certainly looked like it. I began to bandage and medicate it with Neosporin four times a day just to see another, smaller wound appear on my right leg. So I began to bandage and medicate that one as well, curious as to why they had appeared — and why, as a friend that saw them had stated, they looked like burn marks. Four weeks came and went without them healing at all. They didn’t get any worse, but they didn’t get any better, either. And frankly, they were kind of weird…

I had enough foresight to take pictures of them and save them on my phone, which I showed my doctor in lieu of having to take my yoga pants off since they were on the insides of my thighs. He became concerned that I had begun to develop steroid-dependent diabetes as a result of the nine years that I’ve done taking prednisone as needed and started me on some antibiotics in an attempt to help these wounds heal up. If they don’t, or if they heal very minimally, we’ll be talking wound care to the tune of having a skin graft placed on the worse one since it is causing me significant pain and is impairing my ability to sit normally. It’s weird.

I did some blood work for my doctor and will be getting the results of that (diabetes? no?) at my next visit.

Spending the third stimulus check: round one.

Since I actually got this third stimulus check, and the proper amount of it all at once (me and two dependents), I spent some of it on a PlayStation 5 for Bub. I got it from a scalper for not too much over retail price, which was great. I also made sure to get one that had a disc drive because of the backwards compatibility that it boasts, and I began to download the digital versions of games that Bub had on the PlayStation 4 over to it. Needless to say, because of our Internet connection and the amount of games that he boasts over on the PlayStation 4, that took awhile… longer than I’d originally anticipated, but it got done.

I also got my glasses from Zenni Optical, and it only took me a day to get used to the new prescription.

Sadly, I could not get my old glasses in the new prescription from Zenni because they retired that frame (what?! how dare they), but I got a frame that was close enough to them that they will do. I was able to get the sunglasses (dark amber) in the same frame that I’ve been using for them, although they came in the mail two days after my regular glasses did… not quite sure how that happened, but hey, they got here and that’s what matters. I’m still a big fan of Zenni and will continue getting my glasses from them. They work for me.

But seriously, how dare they do this to me:

I am still fighting to get disability, folks.

Even though my disabilities are physical, it is almost always thrown in my face that I am “intelligent, so I can adapt to work”. Okay then, let me know how I can consistently work in spite of nearly blinding pain (or so the saying seems to go). I’ve had to take bursts of prednisone to break migraines that have lasted for days. I’ve had to wear sunglasses in the house to be able to cope with sources of light. But I’m “intelligent, so I can adapt to work”. I think not. The fact that this is even an excuse here just blows my mind in a really bad way.

At any rate, our stimulus check came just before everyone else that I know got theirs, and they actually counted both of my dependents and gave me the correct amount. That blew my mind in a good way. My rule with these is that as long as we don’t need anything that it can buy (since none of us are working and two of us actually get disability checks), I’ll spoil us with them. It’s the least I can do after we put up with Trump for four years. I was actually able to scalp us a PlayStation 5 for a great price given their shortage, and I got us some games that Bub is sure to enjoy. I also got myself some more cyberlox to wear. I mean, really, why not?

Soon I’ll make a list of the things that I’ve spent it on. I think I did that with the past two checks.
