Should this really surprise anyone at this point?

I’ve had to abort two separate migraine headaches now with prednisone… the wrecking ball.

Surprisingly, this doesn’t work extremely well on my lungs any more, but it does work reasonably well on my migraines, helping me restore some semblance of normalcy to my life after I’ve literally tried everything else at my arsenal. Since my insurance rejected my pain management clinic’s request for me to start Botox treatments to the tune of us having to play around with them appealing that, I’m going to ask about starting prednisone “long-term”, either every day or every other day, in the interim as we fight insurance for Botox…

I’m well aware of the side effects of prednisone, having needed it for my asthma as much as I have in the past. But there are days when I don’t want to be confined to bed (or extremely close to that), not being able to do much of anything or what I really want to do that day, so if that means literally sucking it up and starting oral steroid treatment for my migraines, I am amenable, moon face and weight gain be damned.

I was finally able to get in at the optometrist!

This is not a sponsored post. This is me waxing poetic about being blind as a bat.

I found out that my current frames have been retired, so I got these:

They’re not my tried and true frames, but they look like they will do well enough.

I also got these again in sunglass form for my migraines, with the lenses having a dark amber tint:

For the last several years, I’ve been getting my glasses from Zenni Optical. They ship pretty quickly for being as popular as they are, and their glasses have always been high-quality based on my experiences…

This year, my left eye got a bit… better in vision (?), but the astigmatism is worse. My right eye now has astigmatism as well, although it’s very slight and my new prescription should completely correct that. Heh.

Lo and behold, I have more opinions on Walker.

I’m still not going to watch the Supernatural series finale. Ever.

However, I do have a few opinions about Walker as they relate to Jared Padalecki’s acting.

I feel like he didn’t take enough of a break between Sam Winchester and Cordell Walker, and it really shows in… well, everything. I also feel like he’s trying to carry the show as both lead and executive director (producer? not quite sure how to word this), and it’s coming across in nearly everything that Walker does. There are characters that Jared can act well, such as Sam, but a lot of that might have had to do with being paired up with Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) and being able to play off of him. All in all, I feel like Walker is going to do a slow burn at some point and… not be renewed, and a lot of people are going to think that’s entirely Jared’s fault. Jared is trying so hard not to be Sam in Walker, though. That much is rather obvious.

When it comes to the show that Jensen has moved to, I will not be watching that as long as Jim Michaels has anything to do with it. Such a shame, too… I wanted to follow Jensen’s career, but I can’t follow him to The Boys in good faith right now. If Jim actually leaves the show at any point I might be more open to it…

I still miss what Supernatural had the potential to be with the final two episodes, too. I really do.
