Well, I waved at them, and they waved back at me!

I waved at The Satanic Temple (the closest chapter to me) on Twitter, and they waved back.

They also know that I put in an application for that chapter, so hopefully I hear something back soon!

All of this has made me extremely thankful not to be raised religiously, though… and it’s reinforced my desire not to raise my kids religiously, and to step in when someone attempts to raise my kids religiously. Let them make those decisions from themselves. As a matter of fact, let them make those decisions for themselves when I don’t have to consent to anything, and I’ll be the happiest. That ameliorates a lot of the “drama” from it (since the most drama comes from the fact that I refuse to consent to Bub’s baptism). As it already is, I’ve come to feel increasingly more uncomfortable making a decision like that for my kids, especially when they can’t “walk back” that decision of their own will by formally leaving the religion, as I’ve already mentioned.

Meanwhile, I’m sitting here wishing that Final Fantasy XIII had a New Game+ like so many other games do. For such an impressive game, the amount that you can’t do post-game is actually comparatively really sad.

This doesn’t surprise me, but it saddens me.

As a direct result of this pandemic, my pulmonologist does not want me to take prednisone unless I really need it and there is no other alternative. This is because prednisone is a fairly potent immunosuppressant and we are seeing an uptick in the number of COVID-19 cases in this state (once again) because of our governor’s incompetence, and if I am on prednisone — or have been on prednisone really recently — and am actually exposed to it, this may incapacitate my ability to fight it off. This would obviously be bad for me for a number of reasons, the least of them being that I am definitely not a mild asthmatic. And I mean, I can see where my lung doctor is coming from making that recommendation. But it just sucks that he has to make it…

We could have ridden this out longer under a longer stay-at-home order, opened the economy up over a longer period of time, but no. The governor pandered to people literally whining over “the economy” and “going back to work”, and as a direct consequence of this, we have to pay the price of closing everything back up again because the largest hospital in the state and the country could not handle the ICU caseload.

I can’t help but know for a fact that if we had any other president this would have been handled better.

Although prednisone is not the wrecking ball for me that it can be for other people, it has helped in the past when I have had more severe, enduring exacerbations, so it does suck that I can not fall back on this right now, so I am hoping that Symbicort works well in the interim. And speaking of that, when I get a chance I’m thinking of replaying Final Fantasy XIII with New Game+ or maybe even Final Fantasy XIII-2 while I conveniently slow walk Lightning Returns — yes, I’ll get around to finishing it, someday. Really, I will here.

It is official! I have completely fixed the camcorder!

I’m not sure how I did it beyond changing a few video recording settings on the actual camcorder itself (which, in the grand scheme of things, seems banal)… but now I can record video on it and effortlessly upload that video to our laptop without any problems at all, which makes me really happy because now this laptop is not only salvageable but completely functional! I’m not sure why I didn’t think to do this sooner, but changing minor and almost banal settings on the camcorder shouldn’t have been something that completely restored the video settings on the videos from… what they used to be, these large black and green blocks that were unsalvageable messes. Of course, like I said in one of my previous entries here, with the pandemic continuing to go on there probably aren’t going to be that many videos made until this is completely over and done with. As an asthmatic, I am at elevated risk of complications if I do contract this — the kids, being as low-risk as they are, could asymptomatically incubate it for up to fourteen days, and in that time period they could effortlessly pass it on to me with all three of us being none the wiser to the fact that it had happened (until, well, it did, because I would have next to no asymptomatic period with my health history).

Meanwhile, I still think Lightning Returns is just… weird. In a really weird sort of way. Weird. It’s just weird.

Another bumpable song from this trilogy.

I don’t think Final Fantasy has ever made a song, or an inherently bad game, although I have… things to say about Lightning Returns — the game itself isn’t bad, I do like the storyline, I just hate the doomsday clock…

This is another one of my favorite songs from Final Fantasy XIII-2. I just love this game’s soundtrack.
