I need to resume writing longer posts in here.

After fighting the county that my oldest son’s father died in for a year now, they’ve released his autopsy.

We finally know his cause of death.

I mean, other than the fact that he got hit by a driver, who we later found out to be drunk and high at the time of impact… and the fact that whomever was in charge of chronicling his death certificate made it clear that they did not want to do their job (I’ve seen some of these fleshed out in more detail, and I’ve seen this).

Getting into how I got the county to release his autopsy to his family, myself included, is a separate post.

I’ve been seeing so much of him in everything.

I know that you still dream of what money can’t buy for you
And in my dreams I’ll make your wish come true

For the girl who has everything
I bring you love
I bring you love
‘Cause the girl who has everything can’t get enough
Of my love

If I had let my oldest son’s father plan more of the wedding than we wound up having, he would have had “For The Girl Who Has Everything” by N’Sync play in honor of me. He put a lot of effort into selecting that…

This shouldn’t have taken a year to process.

So our family finally found out what killed my oldest son’s father… well, aside from what we’d known.

None of it was too surprising, but the fact that this was even delayed for as long as it was speaks volumes.

There was absolutely no reason to delay it. The fact it was completed was noted on his death certificate.

I’ll be going through it piecemeal in subsequent posts in here, because although a lot of the cause of death was speculated if not just left at “blunt force trauma” and “pedestrian on bicycle struck by motor vehicle”, there was still some that was surprising that none of his family would have gotten to know had I not been as persistent with this as I have been. It’s not something that I regret, but I still wish I hadn’t needed to do it…
