I am almost done loading the new computer up!

Since I’ve taken some of the external hard drives that were on the Intel Xeon, formatted them, and put them onto the new computer as I’ve needed more space to load Bub’s games… it figures that the Intel Xeon would resume giving me shit (editing to add: okay, I got into the BIOS and fixed it, just like I have at every other point this has happened, which is just one of many more reasons why I am glad to soon be “rid” of this computer in place of the Intel Core that’s going into its place). All I have to do beyond that is defragment the external hard drives that are hooked up to this computer because they are HDD and that will make them run a lot faster, and I’ll ensure that positively everything from the old computer is backed up and on the new computer before I start the process of switching them out. That’s probably going to be the most fun part, and what I really mean to say when I write all of this out is that it’s going to be the least fun part of this.

But if I can survive the death of the more tolerable child’s father, I can manage putting a computer together.

Music Monday: July 22nd, 2024

There are things that I could say about the end of the Parasite Eve franchise, having mixed opinions on The 3rd Birthday, but the music is and always has been top-tier, and I will never stop saying that to people…

I am continuing to set our new computer up!

The only thing that I’m going to have to do when I bring it into my bedroom (as I’m currently loading the majority of it on the kitchen table, getting files off of the old computer via USB as needed) is to… set up my streaming program, OBS, because I can’t just import the settings from that onto our new computer… as much as I wish I could. This is going to be the most fun part of the setup process, and by that what I really mean to say is the most challenging. The rest of the setup process can be done on the kitchen table though so that I can simply slide the Intel Core in to where the Xeon used to be, hook everything up via USB that needs to be hooked up, turn it on, test it, and make sure that everything works as it’s supposed to work.

I’ve been sure to take plenty of migraine medication throughout all this, and to wear sunglasses as needed.
