I am noping out of that from this point forward.

I have decided that for my own mental health, I no longer wish to see anything from the Supernatural finale about… what happened to Dean, even pictures of him in Heaven or him driving Baby in Heaven. This includes not being exposed to, or listening to, the music that was playing in the background as it happened.

If this gets… fixed by subsequent work, such as a revival or a reboot, I may then see it differently.

I’m still amused by Jared’s temper tantrum.

So, for all maybe one of you who aren’t already in the know, Jared Padalecki had a temper tantrum on Twitter over the fact that he hadn’t been clued in about the Supernatural prequel that Jensen Ackles’ production company wants to take on. This would have been glorious if it weren’t childish and pathetic. The more I hear or read about Jared, the less I like him, even though I never quite minded Sam Winchester. It’s clear that he doesn’t know how to approach things like an adult would, let alone treat them like an adult would. He just whines until he gets what he wants (and that’s usually after siccing his fans, or “stans”, on whoever slighted him that day). There’s also the MLM — multi-level marketing scheme — that he’s now ass over tea-kettle for, which has some questionable ingredients like nootropics in one, melatonin in the other.

Nootropics are not, nor do they have to be, approved by the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), which means that at best the ingredients do nothing and are placebos, but at worst do something, meaning that an overdose on them — inadvertent as it may be — may be toxic or even life-threatening. Take phenibut, for instance. Phenibut is a nootropic. It is also very possible to overdose on phenibut because lower doses “don’t work” on some people, but higher doses will definitely yield toxic side-effects. It is also extremely easy to build up a tolerance to phenibut, meaning that people who do take it would need a higher dose for the same “therapeutic” effects, and that’s a lot of why phenibut is so easy to accidentally overdose on. The problem with the melatonin is that it is only over-the-counter in a handful of countries, meaning that Jared’s MLM can’t be sent abroad if someone is attempting to purchase the one with melatonin in it and… wait for it… their country has relegated melatonin to prescription-only or has laws in place regarding import of the drug (or any other similar drugs, for that matter). Although melatonin is markedly more difficult to overdose on, taking too much of it when you do not have the tolerance for it can yield such side-effects as daytime sleepiness and extreme tiredness hours after the fact (or the nap/sleep). This too isn’t something that people should dose themselves on, at least not without consulting a doctor or other similar medical professional.

Just because you are depressed (or mentally ill in another way) does not excuse you from taking responsibility for your actions, and siccing your fans (“stans”) on people who you feel have slighted you, only to half-heartedly attempt to pull them back when damage is actually being done (“I didn’t mean for that to happen!”) is the opposite of taking responsibility for your actions. More news at ten. Obvious cat is obvious.

Just something interesting people have noticed…

Channels, but particularly TNT, are not playing episode nine of Supernatural’s fifteenth season (“The Trap”).

They skip right over it, even when it’s listed in TV guides.

The same can be said for the eighteenth episode of the fifteenth season (“Despair”).

The first episode heavily hinted at reciprocation of Castiel’s feelings on Dean’s end, what with his prayer in Purgatory and all… and the second episode confirmed that Castiel has romantic feelings for Dean, although even in spite of the popularity of this the CW wants to brush all evidence of it under the rug. It can accurately be said that this “ship” (romantic pairing of characters) kept Supernatural afloat for many years, especially when the Trending Topic Destiel reached the highest spot on Twitter’s Trending Topics list as “Despair” was airing for the first time. It beat out news about Russia and our election when votes continued to be counted in Nevada. At first, the CW appeared to be supportive of it… but as time went on, they aggressively began distancing themselves from all things Destiel, and here we are. The CW is attempting to rewrite history here.

Queer people shouldn’t have to settle for subtext or what little “scraps” they can get from media.

As a matter of fact, it might be plausible to guess at “The Trap” never having formally aired again since Supernatural ended. I’m not sure about “Despair”, but that wouldn’t surprise me either. It really seems like the CW wants everyone to forget about Castiel, his love confession, let alone the idea that Dean could possibly reciprocate that. They went from multiple actors praising “Destiel finally becoming canon” to no one official at all talking about it. That was one hell of a swerve. People wonder why the CW is being boycotted.

Lo and behold, I have more opinions on Walker.

I’m still not going to watch the Supernatural series finale. Ever.

However, I do have a few opinions about Walker as they relate to Jared Padalecki’s acting.

I feel like he didn’t take enough of a break between Sam Winchester and Cordell Walker, and it really shows in… well, everything. I also feel like he’s trying to carry the show as both lead and executive director (producer? not quite sure how to word this), and it’s coming across in nearly everything that Walker does. There are characters that Jared can act well, such as Sam, but a lot of that might have had to do with being paired up with Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) and being able to play off of him. All in all, I feel like Walker is going to do a slow burn at some point and… not be renewed, and a lot of people are going to think that’s entirely Jared’s fault. Jared is trying so hard not to be Sam in Walker, though. That much is rather obvious.

When it comes to the show that Jensen has moved to, I will not be watching that as long as Jim Michaels has anything to do with it. Such a shame, too… I wanted to follow Jensen’s career, but I can’t follow him to The Boys in good faith right now. If Jim actually leaves the show at any point I might be more open to it…

I still miss what Supernatural had the potential to be with the final two episodes, too. I really do.
