I’m surprised at how quickly this thing is managing to heal. I didn’t expect it to heal this quickly.

I’m still continuing to have weekly checkups (how do I spell that? is it check-ups?) where nurses at my podiatrist’s office change the dressing on it, which… let’s be for real, I need that every single week because I manage to keep moving the bandage around in my sleep to the point that the suture site becomes exposed and I have to go to the local hospital to have it dressed and wrapped again. Yes, this continues to be annoying. However, it continues to be necessary until the sutures are finally drawn and Dobby gets to take a normal bath for what may very well be the first time in an entire month. This is one more thing to deal with.

If everything continues to go well, my stitches will be removed from the wound next week!

I am so exhilarated at the prospect of being able to take a bath like a normal person going forward!

My foot continues not to hurt as badly as I had anticipated it would, but since it does continue to hurt I continue to take prescribed pain medication for it to reduce the amount of pain that I am in at any one time and to allow me to be more mobile. So far it seems to be working extraordinarily well, so I’m considering that a win. In about a week I may be able to have the stitches put into my wound (as in, the one they made to do surgery on my foot putting a rod into it) removed, so I’ve been crossing my fingers that I can have those removed soon since that will mean that I will finally be able to resume baths without having to go to all the time and trouble of not getting my foot wet. That has probably been the most annoying part of this journey.
