That happened a lot faster than I thought it would.

Normally, requests to renew SNAP or Medicaid benefits take months in this state… and by months, what I really mean to say is that I have to file complaint after complaint with the state to get them to look at my renewal applications (or do you just say renewals? I’m not quite sure). But for the first time in what might actually be a really long time, putting in a renewal request for my medical insurance culminated in the state approving that within a week. That’s never happened before, although they used to be faster in general.

Now all I have to do is make sure that Bub’s child support case remains closed since both child support cases had good cause waivers on them exempting them from enforcement until Monster’s father died, rendering that moot in his case. The state has sneakily tried to open one or both of the cases up for enforcement in the past (doesn’t Stephanie Neely have enough to do with her time?), although now Monster’s case can’t be opened because state agencies have been given proof of his father’s death. They literally physically can not open that case up ever again for any reason. His father is dead. That’s permanent.

So far, Bub’s child support case remains closed. I’m going to continue to log into it to ensure it stays closed.
