I continue to look at surgery for my foot.

I think I’ll come back to the Monday and Wednesday posts… oh, sometime next week.

If all goes well (and it never has when it comes to the break of bones in my foot), I’ll be assessed for surgery to put a screw in it in early September. Remember that I broke my foot in May. This is the American healthcare system in a nutshell, everyone. I break my foot in mid-to-late May, manage not to have a cast on it all the way to the beginning of July, and will be assessed for surgery to fix the break in my foot in early September if I am lucky and all goes according to plan which it has never done in this case. At this point the break is going to linger to the point where it compounds the disabilities I already have. I’m told that the type of break I have of the bones in my foot historically does not heal well so have that stacked against me, which is why I told the orthopedic surgeon I had a consult with that I would be open to surgery if it were my best shot at restoring my foot to a modicum of something that actually allows me to walk without a fracture boot.
