The kids who attend public school in this district had from Tuesday to Thursday off because of the storm.
As stated in previous posts, Texans can’t drive in this sort of weather, so I was in full support of schools giving snow days (even though we got a lot more ice and sleet than we ever did snow, it still stands) — I didn’t want to hear about unnecessary wrecks on the news. It doesn’t significantly affect us as homeschoolers, although I tend to homeschool on the days that school is in session even though we do technically operate year-round… I could write a completely separate post on that, and I think I will at one point. However, it is worth keeping aware of since a lot of other businesses close when schools aren’t in session. The boys’ therapy clinic tends to close when schools are closed due to inclement weather, which I’m fine with because that doesn’t put us on the road in a state where people can’t even drive in severe rain…
