Look how beautiful his eyes are in this picture! He was actually still long enough for me to take it, too!
Bub’s games have been loaded onto the gaming laptop! All I have left to do is defragment the HDDs that are in it or hooked up to it, both of which being low on space due to his games… that will free up some more space, and then consider looking for a folding table or laptop desk that can be kept in one of our bedrooms to facilitate easier use of the laptop — as it stands right now, making room on the desktop computer’s desk to use the laptop is onerous, requires some effort, and is almost like playing a real-life version of Tetris…
Yeah, we’ll have to improve the layout of at least my room to make gaming on everything in here feasible.
I also pre-ordered a few video games for Bub that will release on or around Christmas, and at that they’re ones that he is really, really going to like. And I pre-ordered him an Atelier remake that’s supposed to come out in a… week… or two? And to finish off his birthday, I am considering getting him a copy of Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin on Steam so he can play it whenever he wants on the Steam Deck. He currently has a copy of it on Epic Games right now — that was the first gaming app it was released on.
I got our gaming laptop back and the keyboard is no longer scuffed! Bub is stoked.
In the interim, I am now shopping around for a three to five-terabyte HDD that will fit inside the HDD bay of a laptop to maximize the space that Bub has to hold games. If these aren’t made yet, I’ll keep my eye out until something gets made that I can improve his hard drive space with. At this point, I might settle for a larger external HD, even though I don’t like the idea of having to hook an external hard drive up to a laptop unless I have no other choice. Admittedly I am better at putting hard drives into desktops than I am laptops, and hooking up external hard drives to… whatever they need to be hooked up to than this, but I’ll manage.
I am also continuing to pre-order games for Bub that will come out around or before Christmas, to cover a few of those purchases at a time per month so that they don’t get to be too much in the last few months before Christmas! Monster has been collecting DVDs to watch in the portable DVD player that a friend of mine was nice enough to gift him, so I pick up a few of those each month with the intent to be able to give him something he really wants for… well, his birthday and Christmas. Luckily some of the more obscure cartoon DVDs that he manages to find through Google or YouTube are available for really affordable prices.
If I can manage to find a larger HDD for a laptop than what we currently have though, I will go on and get it.

If I’m not mistaken here, this should be the second picture I took of him after he was born.
I got our gaming laptop back today in addition to the other presents that he was given (and very much enjoyed, to include the cake)! At some point — sooner rather than later, I’m hoping — I can swap the HDD in it out for a 4TB HDD or a 5TB HDD, that way he can have all of his games stored on his laptop and we won’t have to worry about having to connect an external hard drive up to the laptop to hold some of his games so he continues to have access to them. I just have to find one with an affordable price that’s not being scalped.

Bub’s birthday cake has already been purchased, and I’ve gotten him almost all of the presents I intend to! (I can’t help it when video games that he would love playing with me have drops at the same time or during this time of year, but he’ll take the W.) Our gaming laptop should also be done having the keyboard replaced due to severe scuff in a few days and I know he’ll be excited about that as well. As the year goes on, and probably closer to Christmas, I do know that I want to drop a 5TB HDD in there — I know my way around hard drive exchanges and RAM upgrades, so that should be simple enough to put in here at the house…
