I can definitely feel the rod that was placed on my foot an am trying hard to stay off of it.
I met with my podiatrist one more time, and we went over what kinds of anesthetics we could use since my epilepsy makes general anesthetic a bit… dicey, if you get me. So we kind of have to work around that…
So far so good though!
I can’t wait to have surgery on my foot and be able to walk again.
As of tomorrow, I’ll be seeing one of the two doctors that I need to see to have sign off for my surgery.
These two doctors are a rudimentary manner of course, but this puts me one step closer to having the screw in my foot that I need to have in my foot to continue to be able to use my foot as intended… so I’m actually looking forward to it. I will be seeing the second of those two doctors early next week, and then I should have a much better idea when the surgery is actually going to be and what I need to expect going into and coming out of it! With any luck, I should be able to get a few questions answered about the kind of anesthesia that I’m going to be given as it relates to my surgery because we have to work around my epilepsy as well… I’d like to be given a regional block so that I don’t feel any pain, and twilight sedation if this can at all be managed because it will be so much more preferable to general anesthetic and it will be safer.
I continue not to know what tags to use on these posts, so… here’s hoping I’ve gotten it right.
As of today, I’ve gotten the X-rays that my podiatrist and the surgeon need to do surgery. They know exactly where the breaks are in my bone (breaks, as in plural tense… not having a cast put on it after this happened caused all of this, though I’m not in the mood to attempt to litigate against anyone I’ve seen for my care about this because it’s not worth my time), which will allow the surgeon to go in and put a screw into the bone that continues not to heal. Now I need to see the anesthesiologist as well as my podiatrist and I’m set!
These X-rays will be used to guide the people who will be doing the surgery.
I want to get this done and out of the way, and at the same time I quite literally never want to do it, but… that’s life. In the interim I’m getting as much done as I can get done so that I can just heal after the surgery.
