I’ve been looking into freelance writing.

When I was getting my college degree, freelance writing was something that I dabbled in for quite some time… although it seems like the landscape of the Internet has changed so much since then that it’s no longer as viable of a side hustle as it used to be in the early 2000s. Since I have a lot of good memories of doing it around my college coursework, I’ve been putting pitches out to blog advertising and freelance websites that continue to be up in the hopes that I can get some of the individuals working for them to contact me back regarding my inquiries. As aware as I am that “mommy bloggers” have since become content creators and influencers, I would like to continue doing it so that any money generated from it can be put into savings accounts for my family. I haven’t quite decided how I am going to invest money made from content creation and livestreaming, but at this point any money that I can make working from home would be good money since it would allow me to supplement our existing streams of income and better meet my children’s needs.

There is one site in particular that seems to continue to be up, and I have reached out to them a few times now hoping for some kind of response. I’m not sure how active the site is on the face of things since I can’t see very much on the site aside from the actual site and ways to register on it, but I have put out feelers toward that site in particular hoping that my persistence pays off and someone working for the site responds to my inquiries. If they see this post of mine and decide to pick me up that would be amazing!

Maybe I should have realized this sooner.

It’s starting to get to the point where I feel like esports organizations (“esports orgs”) are holding me back from accomplishing some of the goals I’ve set out to do as I livestream. I can’t even begin to articulate in here how long I’ve waited for just one of these organizations to create a content house, and that’s been a big thing of mine for quite some time now. I’m also getting sick and tired of the drama that comes part and parcel with so many of these organizations if you get me. Like no, I won’t date you. I am too busy mourning the life that I never got to have with my husband because a drunk driver killed him. And besides, I just won’t.

One of James’ hard drives predictably bit the dust.

It’s something that can be worked around although it will definitely be replaced, but most of today was spent investigating one of James’ external hard drives that almost continually disconnected from the computer (which made downloading games to it, updating games on it or even gaming on it an absolute pain). I checked the cord that hooked it up to the computer as well as the power cord, both of whom seemed to be functioning well as evidenced and proven by being able to hook other 8TB HDDs in the house up to them without a problem. I took the hard drive out of the casing and put it into some other casing I had and it still… wouldn’t work, even though it sounded like it was continuing to go to search for the drive in question or data on the drive. I am now downloading the games of James’ that were on that hard drive to another one that I happened to have lying around the house, which will take some time but is already going so much more smoothly than any and all attempts to use the 8TB HDD he had been using up to yesterday for that.

Truth be told the drive had been giving me issues prior to yesterday, but they were fairly sporadic issues.
