Seems like I saved myself some money there, heh.

I had convinced myself that you had to pay more to get the DLC in Diablo II: Resurrected, and I was going to do that at the start of this month. But… to the best of my knowledge, you don’t have to pay anything extra. So that actually saves me money that I had intended on spending to give Bub the fullest experience of the game that we used to play together with him sitting on my lap as a baby, cooing. Yes, we installed it with the original CDs (gasp!), and there were still people playing the original Diablo 2 back in the day. And surprisingly, our current PC does not have a native CD-ROM drive… I had to buy a Blu-ray/DVD player that hooks up to the USB that requires its own power source to give Bub the fullest experience of those things. To reacquaint myself with the mechanics of the game since I haven’t played it in awhile I might stick to the sorceress class for my own personal character, because that happens to be what I’m the best at. (Blizzard. Literally. All over the place.)

I might also begin playing Diablo 3 with him a little bit more, both on PC and the Switch, just because.

This is fun… takes a lot of effort, but is fun!

In our spare time, we’ve been participating in Max Raids in Pokemon: Sword with the AI filling the spots for the other three characters until I completely get the hang of it. I’ve been doing pretty well so far, but I haven’t caught all of the legendary Pokemon on my first attempt due to the AI — if, between you and the other three “party members”, you faint four times, you get kicked out of the Max Raid. Generally it’s not me fainting during the final battle when you’re actually up against the legendary Pokemon. I’ve also found that switching out frequently before the legendary Pokemon really helps unless you’re switching to a type that it’s super effective against, because then you start the battle with full HP (and you can’t count on someone having a Pokemon that has Life Dew… now if you’re the person whose Pokemon has Life Dew, spam that mother fucker, seriously, your team members will undoubtedly need it and they will thank you for it later).

I still kind of wish you could use your own Pokemon in this, but catching new ones through it is fun.

Also, the remake of Diablo II is soon to come out and I am excited. I can never remember the name of it unless I Google it, but I grew up on the game and have a lot of fond memories of the game in general.

Since I haven’t actually mentioned this sooner…

I found out that Diablo 2 is coming out… remastered, or whatever you want to call it.

Soon after I found out about that, I put down a pre-order on it since you can do that for the PC version.

I grew up on Diablo 2, and Bub spent the first few years of his life sitting on my lap playing it alongside me much to his extreme amusement. Enjoying it again can’t be all bad, especially if it will have improved graphics and other alterations to make the gameplay experience that much better… I just hope that Blizzard finally decides to scrap online-only play. I know that they did so for Diablo 3‘s Switch port, for which I am extremely thankful, but I do hope that this is done around the table for Diablo 2 as well. Sometimes we just want to play a game for the sake of enjoying it without online interference. That’s not too much to ask here.

And speaking of nostalgia, I remember the ill-fated auction house that Diablo 3 used to have.

Why must you do this to me with this game, Steam?

For some reason, I’m fighting to get Ragnarok Online 2 on my computer.

Patching is taking forever, and I am not quite sure why that is. I’ve had to go to the lengths of uninstalling it and reinstalling it. This computer isn’t exactly the most brand new thing on the market, but with the stick of RAM that’s in it, it’s not half bad. Hopefully a fresh reinstall will work, though… I guess I’ll be finding that out.

Maybe it’s a Gravity thing or something. I suppose I’ll be finding that out when I’m done reinstalling it.

Apparently you have to let the entire thing patch all at once, even if that takes forever and a day… literally.

So I guess that is literally what I will be doing if I ever actually want to play this game. Hopefully this is all I have to do to render this game playable on our PC, and will be able to hop right into it once I’ve done that!
